60-ton steam boiler breaks the record
This 60-ton boiler sets a Callens record, for it is the largest steam boiler we ever installed. Together with a tri-pass 40-ton steam boiler, it will spend its life heating the many rollers of a paper mill.
This company's paper processing and production require a hefty amount of steam all year round. As the existing 60-ton steam boiler was on its last legs, we replaced it with a new improved 60-ton one with a staggering 2062 fire tubes.
We made a few well-considered changes to keep the steam boiler as stress-free as possible and maximise its useful life such as making the boiler’s physical support more robust and the boiler wall thicker.
The steam boiler travelled to our client by boat and, on arrival, we got it up and running. In addition, we also installed a tri-pass 40-ton boiler as backup, ready to take over if something unforeseen was to happen.
