Industrial heating

A pleasant working climate, even temperature distribution, and stable production conditions start with a well-designed industrial heating installation. Especially in large production halls, warehouses, and technical rooms, the way heat is distributed makes the difference between a comfortable, energy-efficient environment and unnecessary heat loss.

At the Callens Group, industrial heating starts with a thorough analysis of your building, production process, and heat demand. Based on that analysis, we develop a heating concept that brings heat exactly where it is needed, with maximum focus on energy efficiency, heat recovery, and operational reliability.

Industrial heating as a solution for controlled heat distribution

In large production halls, warehouses, and technical rooms, generating heat is not enough. The challenge is to distribute that heat evenly, so that employees can work comfortably and production processes can run under stable conditions.

Industrial heating provides controlled and efficient heat distribution, fully tailored to the characteristics of your building and the needs of your production process. Depending on the application, an entire room, or specific work or process zones only, can be heated. We consider the building structure, airflows, heat load, and desired indoor temperature. This creates a heating installation that combines comfort, process stability, and energy efficiency, while avoiding cold zones, heat build-up under the roof, and excessive energy consumption.

For which applications?

  • Production halls where a pleasant working climate and even temperature distribution are important.
  • Warehouses and logistics centers where employees must be able to work comfortably and temperature-sensitive goods are stored.
  • Technical rooms where installations must be protected against low temperatures.
  • Hot rooms where high and accurately controlled temperatures are required.
  • Temperature-critical production processes, such as drying, curing, or fermentation processes.
  • Food, pharmaceutical, and chemical production environments where a stable temperature contributes to reliable process operation.

Technical specifications for industrial heating

Heat does not behave the same way everywhere. In high production halls, warm air naturally rises to the ceiling, while work zones at floor level may not get enough heat. The building structure, the presence of machines, airflows, and the way the space is used also determine how heat spreads.

That is why the Callens Group designs heating installations that integrate heat generation, air distribution, and controls. Depending on the application, we choose air handlers, direct-fired or water-supplied air heaters, and integrate heat recovery if of added value.

In the design, we also take account of future expansions, changing production conditions, and opportunities to further reduce energy consumption.

The result is a heating installation that distributes the desired temperature evenly throughout the space, without unnecessary energy loss. This helps you avoid large temperature differences, limit heat losses, and create a comfortable, reliable, and energy-efficient indoor climate.

Benefits

Benefits of industrial heating

By distributing heat in a controlled and even manner, you create a comfortable working environment, stable production conditions, and energy-efficient operations. Industrial heating becomes an investment that contributes to your company’s performance every day.

Healthy working environment

Industrial ventilation removes warm, humid, and polluted air in a controlled manner and provides a continuous supply of fresh outdoor air. This improves air quality and creates a healthier and more pleasant working environment for employees.

Higher employee productivity

A comfortable indoor climate helps employees work with focus and efficiency. By controlling heat, moisture, and poor air quality, you improve working comfort and support daily productivity.

Less absenteeism

By removing polluted air and supplying sufficient fresh air, you reduce exposure to unwanted substances and create a working environment where the risk of health complaints and absenteeism decreases.

Better control of moisture and condensation

Correct air renewal removes excess moisture in a controlled manner and lowers the risk of condensation, corrosion, mold growth, and moisture-related damage to buildings, machines, and stored products.

Lower energy consumption

By aligning airflow rates with actual needs and applying heat recovery where possible, energy consumption and operating costs decrease.

More reliable production conditions

Stable air conditions support processes and products that are sensitive to temperature, humidity, or changing environmental factors and help prevent quality differences and production disruptions.

Custom industrial heating starts with the right analysis

Two work zones can have exactly the same temperature and still feel completely different. Airflows, ceiling height, machines, and the way a space is used all influence employee comfort and the stability of your production process.

That is why the Callens Group looks beyond the number of degrees. During a technical study day on site, our engineers analyze how heat spreads through your production environment and what factors influence that distribution. Based on measurements, calculations, and practical observations, we develop a heating concept that is fully tailored to your building, production process, and energy consumption.

The result is a heating installation that brings heat exactly where it is needed, with even temperature distribution, minimal energy consumption, and maximum comfort for people and production.

“A high-performing industrial heating installation starts with understanding how heat moves through your building: from airflows and ceiling heights to process heat, work zones, and recovery opportunities. Only then can you choose the best combination of technologies.”

Questions? We have the answers.

The required heating capacity depends on so much more than the surface area of a building. Insulation, ceiling height, heat losses, internal heat generation, airflows, desired indoor temperature, and the way the space is used are all determining factors. That is why the Callens Group organizes a technical study day on site for every project. Based on our measurements and calculations, our engineers map the full heat demand of your production environment. From there, we develop a heating concept that is technically correctly dimensioned and suits your production process to perfection.

Want to know which heating capacity your production process needs? Our experts will be happy to analyze your situation.

In tall buildings, warm air naturally rises, which can create cold zones at floor level. Any well-considered heating concept takes account of building height, airflows, air distribution, and the position of the heat sources. By aligning these parameters correctly, the Callens Group creates an even temperature throughout the entire space and improves both comfort and energy efficiency.

Are you experiencing large temperature differences in your production hall? Our specialists will be happy to review how your heat distribution can be optimized.

Yes. In many production environments, valuable residual heat is released and can be reused to heat production halls, warehouses, or other spaces. By integrating heat recovery intelligently, you reduce your primary energy consumption and your operating costs. During concept engineering, the Callens Group examines which residual heat streams are available and how they can be used most effectively within your production environment.

The choice of heating technology is dictated by the temperature you require, the structure of your building, heat demand, and your production process. Depending on the situation, the Callens Group selects air handlers, direct-fired or water-supplied air heaters, possibly combined with heat recovery and an intelligent control strategy. Because we work independently of specific technologies, you can be sure of a heating solution that best suits your company, both technically and economically.

Not sure which heating technology is most suitable for your production environment? Our experts will be happy to advise you.

Not necessarily. In many industrial environments, it is more efficient to only heat manned work or process zones or areas where a controlled temperature is required. This ensures that the available heat is used where it is needed and prevents excessive energy consumption. During the engineering phase, the Callens Group examines which heating strategy is the most efficient for your building and your production process.

For a producer of fine chemicals, the Callens Group developed an indirect air heating installation for an industrial drying tower, where food-safe air had to be heated to 200 °C without any risk of contamination. The installation combines a 2.3 MW thermal oil boiler with specially designed air coils and a multi-stage filtration system, including a HEPA filter, so that the hot process air fully meets the customer’s strict quality requirements. To further increase efficiency, the installation was equipped with an air preheater that recovers heat from the flue gases. The Callens Group also handled the complete engineering, electrical controls, assembly, and 24/7 service. The result is a reliable heating solution that combines high process temperatures with maximum food safety and a combustion efficiency of 95%.
