In a technically complex environment, working safely is part of the solution. By weaving safety into our culture and pursuing a proactive policy, we protect everyone who works on an installation as well as the production environment as a whole.

Prevention, training, and activation

Every company in the Callens Group has an experienced safety team. They watch over both the safety and the quality of our services, supporting the organization in areas such as:

prevention and risk management;
safety training;
on-site guidance;
safety audits;
support for project teams;
monitoring of legislation and standards.

Creating safety, however, is something we all do together. Every employee carries the responsibility to recognize, report, and remove risks.

By treating safety as part of the work culture, we give everyone the autonomy and the responsibility to carry safety throughout the entire organization. We provide the tools; the project teams put them to use.

Safety on site

Every site has its own risks. That is why we work with a far-reaching standard approach, which we then fine-tune to the site-specific safety requirements.

Before work begins, our teams carry out risk analyses. They always complete the necessary steps:

In addition, we expect our clients to have the necessary safety provisions in place, such as safe access routes, work platforms, and screened-off work zones. After all, safety is a shared responsibility.

‘Life-saving rules’ limit the risks

At Callens, there are 11 ‘life-saving rules.’ They are the basic rules by which we, together with all our colleagues, limit the risks in the workshops and on site. The ‘life-saving rules’ focus on individual and shared responsibility, protective equipment, and general skills.

Safety from the concept phase

Even before we get to work on site, we enable safe working. You can see it in our concepts. We equip our installations according to the standards, but, right from the concept phase, we take things a step further: we make all components as easily and ergonomically accessible as possible for technicians. This increases the number of accident-free interventions.

By structurally anchoring safety in design, preparation, and execution, we ensure:

fewer risks of incidents
less downtime on site
higher project efficiency

The equipment for technicians is extensive. I started here right away with a fully equipped van, had a solid stock of workwear, and every piece of protective equipment is available here.
