Double ventilation system for safe battery assembly

On the roof of this new battery assembly hall, two rooftop Air Handling Units manage the airflow to and from the hall. This ensures a safe, reliable, and comfortable working environment with a focus on maximum heat recovery.

Rooftop air handling units

We built two identical air handling units, each nearly 30 meters wide, on the roof. Each unit has a supply and exhaust capacity of 36,000 m3 per hour, resulting in a total capacity of 72,000 m³/h per unit. The extracted indoor air is double-filtered, preheated using recovered heat, and reheated to reach the desired supply temperature.

“At Callens, they always think along with us to achieve the best solution and execution,” said the customer's Plant Engineer HVAC.

Our installation addresses three key pillars: maintaining a dust-free environment from the smallest particles, cooling the factory's EOL units to ensure safe operation, and lastly, creating a pleasant indoor climate for employees.

Overpressure keeps dust out

The entire assembly hall is kept under positive pressure. This prevents dust from entering when the doors are opened multiple times a day for material deliveries.
