Construction of new facilities on Callens’ own properties in Laakdal and Liège

09 September 2025

Callens is building two new facilities in Belgium: in Laakdal (Kempen) and Awans (Liège). These regions are no strangers to us: for years we’ve been leaving our mark from rented spaces. Successfully so. Now it’s time to shift gears strategically and create room for further growth.

More than 200% growth at each location

Together, the local teams in Kempen and Liège have already handled more than 750 projects, a number that keeps climbing year after year. Revenue followed the same upward trend: in Kempen, it soared by 524% compared to the founding year of 2018, and in Liège it grew by 270% compared to its first year in 2021.

“We’re making a strong statement: Callens is here to stay. Over the past years, we’ve built our project portfolio with enthusiasm and landed some remarkable projects that set the tone. That gave confidence to the businesses established there,” explain CEOs Annick Callens and Windy Moerman.

Focus on sustainability and employee well-being

The new facilities are designed with sustainability and relaxation in mind. That means:

  • Nearly Zero Energy (NZE) buildings powered entirely by renewable energy
  • A Calliër Café with bar and training zone
  • A gym and carwash in Laakdal

The HVAC installation in Laakdal is being designed and installed by Callens itself — a showcase of our expertise. After all, industrial air technology, such as ventilation in production halls, is a core business, accounting for 40% of all activities. The other 60% consists of industrial heating technologies and service.

“We aim to move into the new facilities by the end of 2026. It’s a tight deadline, but achievable. Our employees are eagerly looking forward to their new workplace, which will largely mirror the design and amenities of our expanded headquarters in Waregem,” say CEOs Annick and Windy.

New facilities mean more career opportunities

The local teams have grown from a small group of ambitious starters into a diverse group of project managers, design engineers, welders, fitters, maintenance technicians, and more, tackling projects of all sizes with a burning passion for progress. To give space to these ambitions, the entire second floor in Laakdal has been left as a shell, ready for future development.

Both sites are already welcoming new colleagues who share the same determination, pride in their work, and team spirit.
